Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has cleared the air on reports he was working towards becoming the next manager of Belgium national team.
Reports flew about this week that the Frenchman was meeting the Belgian FA to succeed Roberto Martinez as first-team manager.
But Henry said the stories are untrue.
Belgium miserably failed to go deep into the 2022 FIFA World Cup despite having one of the best squads, getting knocked out in the group stage.
Martinez dumped the team after the tournament and is now the manager of Portugal.
Henry, who served as Martinez’s assistant, said: “I would like to make it abundantly clear that contrary to written reports, I have never contacted the Belgian FA offering my services as the new first-team coach.
“I think it’s vital that the truthful version of facts is always presented.”
