Ubi Franklin, the
music executive, has showered praises on Davido for standing by him
through the “thick and thin”.
In an interview on Tea with Tay, Ubi
also revealed how Davido called him in 2018 to become Chioma Rowland’s manager.
The talent manager also spoke effusively about the couple,
adding that “I love them till death.”
“In my worst periods, one person that always picks up my calls is Davido. He’d always call me and yab me to always make sure that I laugh or something. Great guy,” he said.
“He never judged me.
“In 2018, he called me and said you know what I want you to
manage Chioma. And that was it and we’ve been friends like that. We’ve been
family.
“I love them. I love them till death. Those are people who
have stood by me. They’ve never judged me. There are a couple of other people.
I’m just saying. You see them, I value their relationship. These are people
that have been with you. They know you. They understand you. They are safe
around you.”
In 2017, Ubi recalled how he was depressed for nine
months after his marriage fell apart.
“I had almost 5 million dollars but I was depressed. I had
the best cars. I bought a C300- brand new just to kill myself in it,” he had
said.
The talent manager was formerly married to Lilian Esoro, the
Nollywood actress.
