The latest controversy comes after the singer’s failure to
perform in Ghana caused an intense backlash.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner was billed to perform at the Accra
Sports Stadium on Saturday.
But he failed to show up at the event, leaving many
Ghanaians angry.
Live Hub, the show promoter, had accused Wizkid of
“breaching his contractual obligation”.
Several fans enraged by his absence at the concert also
demanded his arrest.
Reacting to the backlash in a statement on Sunday, Wizkid
apologised for his absence at the concert.
He attributed the development to “safety and production
issues”.
The singer said it hindered him from delivering the quality
show that his fans deserve.
It remains to be seen if Wizkid would be issuing yet another
apology, this time for Abidjan.
