Ahead the 2023 general election, the chieftains of the
Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo State have
called on Nigerians to vote out the ruling All Progressive Congress in the
election, saying the latter deserved no return to power .
The chieftains held a town hall meeting at the Igbokoda, the
headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area of the state, where they called on
the people of the district to mobilise people to vote for the PDP.
Addressing the gathering of party members, the former deputy
governor, Agboola Ajayi, said he purposely resigned from his office when he could
not put people of Ondo South out of bondage.
He said, “I purposely resigned my office as deputy governor
when I discovered that I’m in captive under the guise of family government.”
While urging the people to vote for all candidates of the
PDP candidates in the forthcoming general election, Ajayi, who is also the PDP
senatorial candidate for Ondo South, said if he and Kolade Akinjo were elected
as senate and Federal House of Representatives member respectively, there would
be a speedy economic transformation of the people in the area.
