The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate,
Atiku Abubakar has disclosed what Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State told
him during his visit.
Atiku disclosed that Soludo expressed the belief that he
would work if elected Nigeria’s president.
He spoke at the PDP campaign at Alex Ekwueme square in the
State on Thursday.
Atiku also promised to make Onitsha Port functional if elected president.
Atiku said: ”On our arrival today, we visited Governor
Soludo and he said to me that he believes that I will work when I win.
“So, he urged me to reconstruct all the federal roads and
control erosion menace in the State, as Anambra is regarded as erosion
headquarters in the country.”
“I also promise to dredge the River Niger and make sure the
Onitsha Port becomes functional,” he said.
There has been agitation by the South-East to produce
Nigeria’s next president in 2023.
Stakeholders had wanted all the forefront political parties
to zone their presidential ticket to the South-East.
While the PDP presidential ticket went to the North, the
Labour Party, LP, has Mr. Peter Obi of the South-East as its flagbearer.
Ahmed Bola Tinubu of the APC is from the South-West.
