Oluremi Tinubu, senator representing Lagos central, says a
Tinubu-Shettima presidency will be the “best option” for Nigerian women.
The senator’s husband, Bola Tinubu, is the presidential candidate
of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while Kashim Shettima, former Borno
governor, is his running mate.
Speaking on Monday at the inauguration of the
Tinubu-Shettima women presidential campaign, the senator described both men as
“gender sensitive”.
“The track record of both men (Tinubu and Shettima) are
gender sensitive,” she said.
She urged more than 1,250 women present at the inauguration
to mobilise support for the APC candidates.
President Muhammadu Buhari was represented at the event by
Ibrahim Gambari, his chief of staff.
Tinubu and Shettima were also in attendance.
Others who attended the event include Abdullahi Adamu,
national chairman of the APC; Aisha Buhari, wife of the president; Nana
Shettima, wife of the vice-presidential candidate; Simon Lalong, Plateau
governor, and Hope Uzodinma, Imo governor.
Also present were Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state;
