Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC)
presidential candidate, says his party will flush out corrupt politicians if
elected in 2023.
Sowore made the statement on Saturday during the launch of
the party’s manifesto for his presidential campaign.
The publisher of Sahara Reporters described Kano as the
People’s Assembly, thus the reason for launching his campaign in the state.
“We are very confident that with the people’s support and
partnership, the AAC shall build for the Nigerian people, a nation they will be
very proud of,” Sowore told NAN.
“We will traverse the
length and breadth of our country, inspiring and uniting our people to flush
out corrupt politicians and redeem the country.”
He assured Nigerians that his party would modify public
education and increase investment in critical infrastructure, especially
energy.
Commenting on the redesigning of the naira notes, Sowore
said the move will further worsen the nation’s economy.
“The economy is in
shambles with the mix of high unemployment, low wages, crippling inflation, and
meagre social investments thus driving people further into poverty,” he said.
Sowore further said that he and Garba Magashi, his running
mate, have drawn up revolutionary programmes to secure the country.
