The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has lauded the
Federal Government for fulfilling the earlier promise to rescue the remaining
23 abducted Abuja-Kaduna train victims.
Recall that a Presidential Committee set up by the Chief of
Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, to look into the abduction of victims of
the Kaduna-Abuja train attack, secured the release of the 23 remaining victims
in the terrorists’ captivity.
Reacting in a statement, the CAN President, Archbishop
Daniel Okoh commended the Federal Government for the release of the victims.
He said the development not only indicated that the
authorities meant serious business, but they were ready to muster the required
political will to end the reign of terror in parts of the country.
“We commend President Muhammadu Buhari for this development which signposts the efforts of the Federal Government at combating our common enemy as a nation- insecurity,” Okoh said.
