The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it won’t give up on
reconciliation with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and other aggrieved
members of the party.
Recall that the Wike-led faction of the PDP pulled out of
Atiku’s presidential campaign council. They insisted that Ayu must resign to
give away for a Southerner to lead the party.
Other governors in Wike’s camp include Benue State governor,
Samuel Ortom, Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, Abia state, Okezie Ikpaezu, and
Enugu State governor, Ugwuanyi Ifeanyi.
Breaking journalists to speed on the reconciliation move,
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon Debo Ologunagba, Friday in Abuja said the
party is exploring other options to mend the fence.
He said “We have an internal conflict resolution mechanism,
we can’t give up hope on reconciliation, because this party is PDP, not an
individual. We don’t give commands, we don’t give instructions, we negotiate.
“As a party, we are very confident that Governor Wike, other
governors and other members of our party who have issues to deal with remain
important. But irrespective of other divides, misunderstandings or differences
we are all united to rescue our country from the rudderless APC government”.
