EPL: 5 talking points as Premier League enters Game Week 8

The Premier League schedule fully resumes this weekend, after the funeral rites for Queen Elizabeth II and the international week.

From now until the 2022 World Cup, teams will be playing every three days.

But what are the 5 things we should expect as domestic football returns?

1. North London Derby: The EPL returns with a keenly anticipated North London Derby. The last game between Arsenal and Tottenham determined the fourth spot in the 2021/2022 season. This time around, the Gunners will be hoping to exact revenge on their rivals and stay top of the table.

2. Crystal Palace vs Chelsea: Graham Potter is yet to take charge of a league fixture as Chelsea manager. His first and only game was a 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg in the Champions League. The former Brighton boss will face a tough task at Selhurst Park this Saturday, as he seeks his first win.

3. Liverpool vs Brighton: The Reds need to start getting points on the board or they will not be in the title discussion by the turn of the year. Jurgen Klopp’s men have only won two games so far and sit in eighth place, nine points off leaders Arsenal. They will be hoping for three more points when they host Brighton.

4. Leicester City vs Nottingham: This is one of those types of games football fans will tag ‘El-Sackico’. The two managers are under pressure, as their teams are bottom of the table. However, it is Brendan Rodgers, who has lost six out of seven matches whose future is hanging by a thread. And he needs to win at home this Saturday.

5. Leeds vs Aston Villa: Steven Gerrard’s men pulled off a gutsy 1-0 win over Southampton the last time. And they will be looking to build momentum and finally get their season going. But it will be a tough job at Leeds United, who have not played for almost a month and will be keen to give their fans a result.
