President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the Chinese communist leader, President Xi Jinping on historic election to a third term.
Recall that Jinping, as the leader of the Communist Party of China, is expected to steer the affairs of China for another five years.
Buhari, who has maintained bilateral relations with China since coming to power in 2015, said he hopes that Xi’s re-election would pave the way for deeper and enduring partnership and strategic cooperation that will be mutually beneficial to both countries.
“I believe that the development of infrastructure, such as railways, dams and roads construction, power generating plants, as well as trade exchanges will receive strong boost,” said President Buhari in a message to the Chinese President and conveyed by his media aide, Garba Shehu on Monday morning.
