Former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan
and pioneer member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olusanya Awosan, has
blamed Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate for the
lingering crisis in the PDP.
Awosan said the former Vice President had not shown
leadership since after the party primaries and that he expected him to be
magnanimous in victory.
He disclosed this while fielding questions on Thursday
morning on the Channels TV Sunrise program.
“I think Vice President Atiku Abubakar has not looked back;
he did not bother to look back. Once upon a time, this platform under which he
was standing was the platform he brought bulldozers to pull down.
“If there were no people to put the skeleton he left behind
together, would there have been a platform for him to stand as a presidential
candidate?
“Having secured the ticket, I expected him to be magnanimous
in victory, but his disposition does not show any sign of leadership,” he said.
He added that the PDP Governors first took the wrong step by
making Ayu the national chairman.
“The governors committed the first error when they went to
the bed of Ayu to wake him up from that bed of political retirement to come and
be the chairman. I was discussing with Doyin Okupe then, saying these people
have taken the wrong step in their life,” he added.
