Nigerians’ cooperation will help security agencies end insecurity – Army chief Yahaya

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, has urged Nigerians to assist security agencies in their efforts to end insecurity.

On Friday, Yahaya reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to make the country safe.

The COAS spoke at the inauguration of a Town Hall built by the Army for the Akinmoorin community in Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Yahaya noted that the military arm was paying attention to non-kinetic aspects of its operations in order to eradicate insecurity.

“For us to win in our operations and eradicate insecurity, we need the cooperation of the people.

“We need information; it is this information we annex that we use in our operations”, NAN quoted him saying.

Yahaya added that the building was in furtherance of Army’s aim to boost positive military-civil relations.

The facilitator of the project is Maj.-Gen. Olufemi Akinjobi, the Chief of Army Operations.

The indigene of Akinmoorin said the Town Hall had been the dream of the community in the last 30 years.
