Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has
reiterated that the unity of Nigeria remains unshaken.
Mohammed spoke in Calabar after a performance by the
cultural troupe of the Department of Culture and Heritage, Cross River Ministry
of Culture and Tourism.
The event is part of the activities for the celebration of
the 2022 World Tourism Day the state is hosting.
Mohammed, in reaction to the dances and stage play, told
those clamouring for separation to drop the agitation.
The minister said the unity of the people for decades was a
pointer to the importance of peaceful coexistence in the country.
Mohammed stated that the performance of the troupe was
“world class by any rate”.
“I wish that those who said Nigeria is at war should witness
what we have seen today”, NAN quoted him saying.
“Those who said Nigeria has no future, I wish they were here
today.
“The drama of unity means not one of us can do it alone.
Anyone that has witnessed war before will never wish for war or separation”, he
said.
