Joe Aribo is looking forward to coming up against his Nigeria teammates, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho when Southampton face Leicester City in their Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.
Aribo joined the long list of Nigerian players plying their trade in the English top-flight after moving from Scottish Premiership club, Glasgow Rangers this summer.
The duo of Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis also arrived at Nottingham Forest this summer.
Aribo had two of his compatriots, Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey as teammates during his time at Rangers.
But the scenario will be different this time around as he will look to outwit Ndidi and Iheanacho.
“It’s going to be really good. It’s going to be a tough test but I am excited to play against them, to be up against them,” Aribo was quoted by the DAILY ECHO.“Leicester are a very good team, so it is not going to be easy for us.
“But we just need to stick to the manager’s game plan, our players need to turn up on the day and hopefully we will get the result.”
Aribo opened his goal account for Southampton in the 2-2 home draw against Leeds United last weekend.
