Atletico Madrid has decided to rule out any possibility of signing Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, this summer.
According to Marca, the Spanish LaLiga giants don’t see a move for Ronaldo as being ‘economically viable.’
Atletico Madrid could not afford the 37-year-old’s astronomically high salary.
Ronaldo is desperate to leave Man United and join a club that can offer him UEFA Champions League football and not Europa League.
His ambition is to win a sixth European Cup and draw level with Paco Gento.
Ronaldo had won one Champions League with Man United back in 2008 and four with Real Madrid between 2014 and 2018.
However, Atletico Madrid are regulars in the Champions League competition and will partake in the 2022/23 season, but as things stand, it’s not viable.
