An Oyo State High Court has dismissed an appeal filed by Mr. Rauf Olaniyan, the state Deputy Governor.
The Oyo State House of Assembly had a few weeks ago initiated an impeachment process against the deputy governor.
Recall that Olaniyan later approached the court to stop the lawmakers from impeaching him.
The court has however dismissed the appeal filed by the deputy governor.
The court presided over by Justice Ladiran Akintola dismissed the suit filed by Olaniyan on Thursday.
The court said that lawmakers have the right to remove the deputy governor from office.
Akintola while delivering his judgment on Thursday, insisted that the House of Assembly has not breached the provisions of the constitution on the removal of a governor or deputy governor.
According to Akintola, the lawmakers substantially complied with the provisions of Section 188 of the Constitution on the removal process.
The court said the lawmakers should continue with the removal process
