Senator Shehu Sani has condemned the attack on Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State which led to the murder of at least 43 people including 30 soldiers and seven mobile police personnel and civilians.
Sources had confirmed that armed men suspected to be bandits attacked a mining site in the community, killing unsuspecting workers and abducting several Chinese nationals.
Reacting, Sani, a former Kaduna State Governorship aspirant, condemned the massacre.
In a recent tweet on his verified Twitter handle, the former lawmaker stated that it was risky, to mine Gold in such an area.
He wrote, “The terrorist attacks in Shiroro LG, Niger State that led to the kidnapping of Chinese miners and scores of people also involved serious casualties on the security forces.
“Mining for Gold in bandit-infested areas carries a huge risk”.
