2023: Reno Omokri apologizes to Bola Tinubu for mocking his health status

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has tendered an apology to the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu for mocking his alleged health challenges.

Omokri, a major critic of Tinubu had via his social media handles, ridiculed the health status of the former Lagos State Governor in a bid to tarnish his image ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Reno had published several video clips alleging that Tinubu has health issues and may be unfit to rule the country.

Omokri’s actions had triggered a fight between him and supporters of the Asiwaju of Lagos.

However, in a post on his official Facebook page on Thursday, Reno apologized to Tinubu and his supporters, saying he would henceforth, stop attacking Tinubu over his health.

He wrote, “Atiku, Tinubu, and Obi have been friendly with each other for upwards of 20 years. So, you and I should support any one of them without being unfriendly to each other.

“I will campaign for my candidate, but won’t force him on you. Please do likewise with me! This election will come and go. But Nigeria will remain, and God sparing our lives, we will also remain. No insults, no threats, no slander.

“I have been guilty of using Bola Tinubu’s health status against him and I have come to realise that if we do not die early, we will all age and may suffer ill health. Therefore, I profoundly apologise to Mr. Tinubu and his supporters.

“Even though it may seem that the health of a candidate is a serious issue, I nevertheless promise to focus on other issues besides his health henceforth. May God bless you all”.
