Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has reacted to
the outcome of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and governors of
the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Sani said Buhari and the APC governors should allow the
Southern part of Nigeria to produce the party’s presidential candidate.
In a tweet, the former lawmaker said Buhari and APC
governors should respect their gentleman agreement and allow a Southern
candidate emerge as the party’s candidate.
He wrote: “The president and the ruling party Governors
should honour their ‘gentleman agreement’ and allow for a southern candidate to
emerge.”
Recall that Buhari asked APC governors to allow him pick the party’s
presidential candidate.
Buhari made the call during his meeting with the governors
yesterday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
