Brentford coach, Thomas Frank has hailed the ‘ongoing fairytale’ of Christian Eriksen’s comeback after the near-fatal cardiac arrest he suffered during last year’s European Championship as the midfielder played a key role in his Saturday’s Premier League 4-1 win over Chelsea.
Eriksen was impressive for Brentford as they defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
A brace from Vitaly Janelt, and a strike each from Eriksen and Yoane Wissa gave Brentford all three points against Thomas Tuchel’s men.
Speaking about Eriksen at his post-match press conference, Frank said: “It’s an ongoing fairytale and I am very pleased about that, of course.
“From the beginning, I thought OK, he has been checked, everything has been checked in his entire body.
“I was actually not in doubt… I never knew how quick it would take to get up to this level.”
Meanwhile, Eriksen signed for Brentford in January after saying he would resume his playing career.
