Paris Saint-Germain boss, Mauricio Pochettino, has admitted
that he is ‘tired’.
Pochettino said this while reflecting on how PSG was
eliminated from the Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie against Real
Madrid a few days ago in Spain.
Recall that PSG were 2-0 up in the last-16 tie with just
under half an hour to play at Real Madrid before Karim Benzema’s hat-trick
inside 18 minutes turned the tie on its head.
Pochettino’s men had been cruising following earlier goals
by Kylian Mbappe but, despite controlling large stages of both legs, failed to
hang on.
And Pochettino has now confessed that it is hard for him to
sleep at night.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of PSG’s
clash against Bordeaux on Sunday, Pochettino was quoted by
GetFootballNewsFrance as saying: “How do I feel? It p***** me off.
“It p***** me off because if you break it down, for the
first leg and 60 minutes of the second leg, the team were superior. Maybe we
deserved to lead by more goals and the way in which it was taken from us, it
really p***** me off – excuse my language.”
The former Tottenham manager added, “It leaves a really
painful mark and it’s hard to move on. I’m angry, tired… It’s hard to sleep at
night but we have a responsibility to continue.”
