Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has noted that
prophets in Nigeria failed to capture the ongoing war between Russia ukraine,
collapse of national grid and the current energy crisis in the country.
Pastors and self-acclaimed prophets are used to releasing
series of prophecies about the country, the continent and the world at large at
the beginning of each year.
These prophecies capture things, according to them, would
happen in the new year around the world and in many occasions, their
predictions never happen.
Some of these prophets would go on to predict things that are
already a given, such as the death of a popular figure whose name they won’t
mention or even that President Muhammadu Buhari will travel to the United
Kingdom for medical checks, something most Nigerians have already marked in
their calendar.
Now Shehu Sani, an activist and a popular face in the eighth
national assembly, is wondering why none of the prophets mentioned big issues
such as the war in Ukraine.
“At the beginning of the year, none of the ‘Prophets’
prophesied Ukraine, national grid failure and energy crisis,” Sani, who
represented Kaduna central Senatorial District, tweeted.
