Insecurity: Civil servants behind Boko Haram, banditry, killer herdsmen – Sanusi

Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, has blamed the high spate of insecurity on civil servants.

Sanusi said Boko Haram, banditry and activities of killer herders have been on the increase due to corruption perpetrated by civil servants.

He accused them of stealing millions and billions of naira meant for road construction, education, provision of power, food, and transportation in the country.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor spoke at the closing ceremony of the AIG Public Leadership Programme Class of 2021, in Abuja yesterday.

According to Sanusi: “Today, you see civil servants stealing millions and billions of naira meant to build roads, provide power, water, education, food and transportation, to the detriment of the majority of Nigerians.

“All of these have given birth to Boko Haram, killer herdsmen, bandits and numerous arms struggles, especially among the youths, which resulted in the worst threats to human lives all over Nigeria.”

The level of insecurity in Nigeria continues to rise, with the activities of Boko Haram and banditry in the North.
