Super eagles coach, Austin Eguavon has stepped down from his role as the head coach of the Nigerian national team after his failure to qualify the team for the world cup in Qatar.
The former Nigerian defender will return to his role as
Technical Director of all national teams.
Reliable sources reveal that Eguavon has sent an official
letter to the NFF stating his position.
The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, are however yet to
release an official statement.
The NFF had handed a two-year contract to Eguavoen two days
before the first leg of the World Cup play-off against Ghana.
It is now clear that the Super Eagles will soon have a new
coach. Meanwhile Nigerians are calling for a total overhaul of the football
federation.
