Plateau Assembly member wins PDP primary for Jos North/Bassa Bye-Election


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has declared Musa Agah the winner of the party’s primary election.


Agah will fly the party’s flag in the upcoming bye-election for Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency.


Agah who is also the current member representing Irigwe/Rukuba constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, polled 152 votes to beat his closest rival, Jonathan Dabo, who polled 127 votes.


The electoral process which was hitch-free lasted 5 hours.


Declaring the results, the chairman of the Election Committee, Mr Francis Orogu said, “Hon. Musa Agah polled 152 votes, Jonathan Dabo 127 votes and David Racha got one vote.


“As you can see, what happened here was transparent, we gave a level playing to all aspirants, and you can see how everything went smoothly.


Orogu also commended the maturity of all the aspirants and urged them to support the party to ensure it emerges victorious in the secondary election.


Responding, Agah, thanked the delegates for their support.


He also said, “In this election, there is no victor no vanquish, its a victory for PDP.


“Honestly, I appreciate my brothers who contested against me, I believe the victory is for all of us.


“So I urge all of us to work together as a family to deliver this mandate come February 26, 2022, God bless you all”.
