Augustine Eguavoen has hinted he could take charge of the Super Eagles, when they clash with Ghana in March 2022.
Nigeria take on their West African rivals for a place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Eguavoen led the team to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, where they were dumped out in the round of 16 by Tunisia.
However, the 56-year-old impressed fans and pundits, as they won their first three group fixtures against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.
Following their AFCON exit, Eguavoen announced he would return to his role as Technical Director at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
But speaking with BBC Africa Sport, he was asked about the two-legged ties against Ghana.
“That I cannot answer,” he said.
“The only thing that I can tell you is I’m still the technical director of the federation and I am happy with that.”
