Guinea Bissau goalkeeper, Jonas Mendes has vowed that his
team would beat the Super Eagles when they meet in their last Group D clash on
Wednesday.
He said the Djurtus will do everything within their powers
to shock the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday.
Nigeria has already booked its place in the round of 16
after victories against Egypt and Sudan in their first two games but will do
battle with Guinea at the Roumde Adjia Stadium, Garoua on Wednesday.
Guinea-Bissau must beat Nigeria to remain in the competition
after earning one point from their opening two games.
“It’s very important for us to get our first victory in
AFCON. Tomorrow we are going do our best to win,” Mendes told a press
conference on Tuesday
“I know it is going to be a tough game but we know all we
need is to get three points.
“The last game was tough for us but as professionals, we
know how to get out of such situations.
“We are motivated to face Nigeria, to qualify for next
round. We want to make our people happy
“We are preparing for all Super Eagles players, one player
can’t win 11 opponent, we know Nigeria have a strong attack, ”he added.
“We are going to attack as one and defend as one.”
