Manchester United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick, has explained
why he did not include Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial in his squad to face
Crystal Palace on Sunday.
According to the German, Lingard and Martial said they were
“feeling pain” in training before the game.
Rangnick picked the same side that defeated Arsenal for the
game.
Explaining his team selection, the 63-year-old said: “The team did well against Arsenal, especially in the second half.
“As everyone was fit and available, there was no reason to
change the XI.”
On Martial and Lingard’s absence, Rangnick added: “Jesse and
Anthony indicated after training [yesterday] that they didn’t feel well, they
felt pain. That’s the reason they are not in the squad.”
