End of banditry in sight – Gov. Matawalle

 

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has assured that his administration would engage criminal elements ravaging the State in a titanic battle.

 

The Governor made this declaration when he paid homage to Emir of Kaura, Alh. Sanusi Muhammad Asha at his palace in Kaura Namoda town.

 

Governor Matawalle acknowledged the importance of the role being played by traditional institutions in the fight against banditry and all forms of criminality.

 

He reiterated his determination to end the menace in the State, stressing that his recent trip to United Arab Emirates and Niger Republic were to woo investors, as well as discuss issues that would strengthen security measures, especially transnational aspect of the threat.

 

“The innocent citizens of the State cannot continue to be in bondage by these criminal elements who ignored my hands of fellowship for peace and reconciliation,” he added.

 

Responding, Emir of Kaura Namoda, Alh. Sanusi Muhammad Asha commended Governor Bello for his fight against banditry activities in the State.

 

The Emir also expressed delight over the manner through which Governor Matawalle pays respect to traditional institutions in the State with all sense of dignity.

 

He further expressed his appreciation over the inclusion of his palace among those to be reconstructed by Matawalle’s administration as captured in the 2022 Proposed Budget presented to the State House of Assembly.

 

Others captured in the said budget proposal as phase one of the administration’s royal residences reconstruction drive are that of Anka, Bungudu, Maradun and Tsafe Emirs’ Palaces.
