Every year, we witness massive football transfers worth millions of pounds. Sometimes, teams go for experienced players who have already made a name for themselves in the football world. At the same time, they invest in young talents promising to become football legends.
Southampton recently gave an example of the latter by purchasing the likes of TinoLivramento, still officially a teenager who joined the Saints and became the main topic of almost every football conversation.
Due to the massive EPL popularity in Nigeria and other countries, the word about the young Southampton defender spread fast. He even got the attention of Theo Walcott, who stated that this amazing young football hope reminded him of Gareth Bale and could easily become one of the greatest English players.
Who Is Tito Livramento?
TinoLivramento is a young English football player, previously part of Chelsea's young team. While playing for the Blues, Livramento won the Academy Player of the Year for 2020/21 and stood out in the market full of new talents with three goals and 13 assists in 26 appearances.
This was enough for Southampton’s manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl, to sense the gift for football and splash out £5 million on the young defender. Before joining the Saints, Livramento didn't take part in any senior games. As part of Southampton, he started 11 Premier League games and received the October player of the month nomination for his contribution in attack and defence on the field.
Theo Walcott Compares Livramento to Gareth Bale
After TinoLivramento joined the Saints and started playing in senior EPL matches, many great footballers shared their opinion about the newbie’s skills. One of the first to praise him was Theo Walcott, the Southampton forward and a member of the English national team.
Walcott first mentioned he was impressed by Livramento’s strength, power, and presence on the field. According to him, the youngster is a clever player with a perfectly developed technique that you can count on to do the right thing.
One of the most important things Walcott said about the teenager was that he reminded him of a former Saints player Gareth Bale. Apparently, Livramento seems to be a full-back that resembles Bale in his ability to transition to the line of the attack and do it with strength and precision.
Chelsea’s Training and Southampton’s Youth Team Can Do Wonders for TinoLivramento
After he described all of Livramento’s qualities, Walcott also mentioned the obvious influence of the Chelsea academy. The Blues have always been known for investing in young players and training them with utmost care and discipline, clearly noticed in how Livramento approaches football.
Walcott said he was surprised at first when Chelsea agreed to sell Livramento. However, now that everyone has seen a huge potential in this young lad, the Saints’ attacker is focused on Southampton keeping him in the team.
And indeed, Southampton is a great place for such a rising star, mainly due to a great number of young players within the team. Although experienced footballers can share many tips and tricks with novices, younger players fit in much easier when other same-age individuals are around.
All in all, TinoLivramento has it all to become a world-known football player. Apart from his undeniable raw talent, he’s got Chelsea’s base and the whole Southampton expert team led by Ralph Hasenhuttl to help him develop even further. His achievements have been good so far, but he still has a long way to go before he becomes as valuable of a player as Gareth Bale.
