Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri on Monday said he had
engaged in a spiritual battle against the former Chairman of the defunct
Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina after he (Maina)
instituted a ₦4 billion suit against him.
The socio-political activist, in a post on his verified
Facebook page, said his decision to go spiritual followed a defamation suit by
Maina after accusing him of being corrupt.
Reno said Maina was arrested the same day he began fasting
and praying to seek the face of God over the case.
Recall that the former pension boss was on Monday sentenced
to 61 years in prison over money laundering but his sentence will run
concurrently for 8years.
The post reads, “On September 21, 2019, Abdulrasheed Maina,
the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, sued me for
defamation for calling him a dishonest person.
“He asked for ₦4 billion in damages. The very same day, I
fasted and prayed to the Highest God, and Maina, who had previously been in
hiding, was arrested exactly two weeks after he sued me.
“Today, November 8, 2021, Abdulrasheed Maina, was convicted
for money laundering by Justice Okon Abang and sentenced to eight years
imprisonment.
“Please do not tell me there is no God, or that he does not
answer prayers. This is one more example, in a long list of testimonies, that
proves that God does exist and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently
seek Him.
“My next prayer is for God to spare my life until Buhari
leave office, so I can travel to Nigeria and visit Maina and his son in prison
to personally offer them my condolences for their conviction”.
