Manchester United have made the first approach for Mauricio
Pochettino, current coach of Paris Saint Germain, according to the Manchester
Evening News.
Pochettino is the club’s first choice to replace Ole Gunnar
Solskjaer, who was dismissed last Sunday.
United have put Michael Carrick in temporary charge, while
they continue to look for an interim boss to see out the remainder of this
season.
But Pochettino is believed to be open to a move to Old
Trafford mid-season as he is unhappy in Paris, where he lives in a hotel room
while his family resides in London.
United will have to pay PSG a £10m compensation fee to
release the Argentine from his contract.
PSG chief, Leonardo, reportedly held an emergency meeting
with Pochettino on Monday night after news broke that United were targeting the
Argentine.
The meeting was to determine whether the manager wants to
leave PSG for United.
It was reported that Leonardo left satisfied that Pochettino
is not looking to immediately jump ship and abandon the French giants.
