The Ekiti State Police Command has declared a N5 million reward for anyone with genuine information on the whereabouts of four suspected kidnappers alleged to be terrorising the state.
The Police spokesman in the state, Sunday Abutu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
The names of the wanted suspects as provided by the spokesman are Banji Akeem, Samuel Ebira, Dele Jimoh and Dayo Igwe.
According to Mr Abutu, the four suspects currently on the run were indicted by their gang members who are currently in the police net.
He said the suspects were responsible for the abduction of prominent citizens in the state in the last two years.
Mr Abutu said the suspects who had admitted to their crime, were arrested through the relentless efforts of the men of the police command.
“They confirmed to be the brain behind the abduction of one Olowo Bola of Ipoti-Ekiti and the late Chief Abiodun Ajayi, who died from the injuries sustained while he jumped from the kidnappers’ vehicle, earlier this year, in Ado Ekiti,” Abutu said.
Mr. Abutu also said the hoodlums disclosed that they usually hide their victims in the house of late Chief Ogunremi, located around Water Works in Ado-Ekiti or sometimes Ayere forest in Kogi State.
Some of the items recovered from the suspects according to Abutu include one Toyota Corolla car, 13 rounds of live cartridges and two locally-made double-barrel guns.
Mr Abutu said N5 million reward awaits whoever provides useful information that could lead to the arrest of the criminals.
