Reno Omokri, a former aide of ex-President Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan, has urged the Federal Government to focus on the insecurity in
Northern Nigeria.
His stance comes after the Attorney General of the
Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami announced after the Federal
Executive Council meeting, that the FG might declare a state of emergency in
Anambra state.
Malami had on Wednesday, warned that a state of emergency
might be declared in Anambra to ensure the forthcoming governorship election.
However, Omokri opined that Kaduna, Borno, Yobe, Zamfara,
and the Niger States where he claimed Boko Haram controls, are in dire need of
such declaration.
He tweeted, “Abubakar Malami’s threat to declare a state of
emergency in Anambra may very well be the spark that ignites what he can’t put
out.
“How can you leave Borno, Yobe, Kaduna, Zamfara and Niger
(where Boko Haram controls 500 communities) and declare an emergency in
Anambra?“
