The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed
49 more COVID-19 related deaths in the country. This brings the total number of
fatalities so far to 2,544.
The agency made this known via a post on its verified
Facebook page on Sunday morning.
NCDC also reported 964 new cases of the virus in 19 states
and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
So far, Nigeria has recorded 195,052 cases since the virus was first detected in the country in 2020.
However, with the aid of health experts, no fewer than
182,463 patients have been successfully treated and discharged.
