The People’s Democractic Frontiers have advocated for the immediate removal of the party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, saying national interest surpasses that of any fiefdom.
The PDP Frontiers, while addressing journalists in Kaduna, maintained that Secondus’s removal is important given that his performance is poor in the face of opportunities for him to do well and reposition the party ahead of the 2023 general election, insisting that his attempt to perpetuate himself in office would not be accepted.
The group of concerned PDP members led by the trio of Alhaji Hussein Mohammed (President), Mr. Moses Abidemi (Secretary) and Mr. Dan Okafor (Publicity Secretary), in their address, which was sent to newsmen, expressed disappointment that Secondus did not wake up to stem the tide of membership hemorrhage leaching the PDP in favour of the ruling APC.
According to them, anarchy has rocked PDP with members exiting without Secondus making effort in putting up reconciliation machinery, a situation they posited would rob the party of its chances in 2023.
“Instead of being allowed to sit pretty over an imagined fiefdom, Secondus who ought to have gone a long time, must go now.
“He has never proven to have any capacity for being a political war general and his laissez-faire style of leadership during preparations for the 2023 general elections can only culminate into really atrocious results,” the group said.
The stakeholders however appreciated his last contributions noting that the current realities demanded for his exit to pave way for fresh hands.
According to Mohammed, the PDP Frontliners is a mass group of concerned party supporters who are determined to see a vibrant, tactical and visionary leadership in PDP towards putting an end to the pain, miseries and colossal disappointment that APC foisted on Nigeria in spite of massive propaganda and utopian promises made in 2015.
They further lamented that PDP’s leadership has not been responding to APC’s errors and inadequacies, to make the party gain contraction in public perception.
