Who will win EURO 2020?

It's cruch time now as the European football championship reaches the Semi-Final stage with four teams left to slug it out for the final two spots and you can check out this application for betting in Nigeria for the best betting odds in the world.

One of  Italy, Spain, England or Denmark will be lifting the highly coveted trophy on Sunday, but before then, they will have to slug it out in two juciy Semi Final match-ups that promise to offer millions of football lovers a lot of excitement to savour.

Italy vs Spain

Coming from a very strong run of 33 unbeaten matches, Italy qualified for the Semi Finals after they dislodged Belgium in the quarter-finals, bringing an end to the Red Devils' golden generation with a 2-1 win.

With the return of Giorgio Chiellini into the squad, he outrightly formed a formidable partnership with Leonardo Bonucci, and with arguably one of the most talented goalkeepers Gianluigi Donnarumma at the stick coming off with several stunning saves, Italy have one of the strongest defensive units in the tournament.

But as good as Italy are defensively, they have an equally potent attack. Lorenzo Insigne scored a trademark goal to settle the tie but it was Federico Chiesa who caught the eye with an electric performance. Roberto Mancini is likely to persist with a front three that also includes Ciro Immobile.

Unlike Italy, Spain on the other hand needed extra time and a nerve-racking penalty shootout to toople an impressive Swiss team into the last four.

Spain have been far from convincing enroute the Semis, and the fact that some pundicts have tagged this spanish team as the 'Weakest in years' will make them slight underdogs for this tie.
Futhermore, Luis Enrique's squad selection prompted fierce criticism among sections of the Spanish media, with AS accusing him of betraying the nation's most popular club by omitting Sergio Ramos.
With players like Alvaro Morata, Gerard Moreno, Sergio Busquets and Pedri, Spain however still possess enough fire-power to trouble the Italians.

England vs Denmark

If England scales through this hurdle, it will be only the second final appearance ever in a major tournament since 1966. Since a 2-1 win over Portugal in the 1966 World Cup final. the Three Lions have failed to reach a final in a major tournament and they will be hoping to end their semi-final hoodoo against Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday.

“It’s a chance to make history as we’ve never been to a European Championship final,” Gareth Souhgate told Uefa.com “It’s not so much pressure for this team; it’s another challenge that they’ve got the chance to take on, and at the moment they’re rising to those challenges.”

England captain Harry Kane, who has now scored three times at Euro 2020, says “we need to try to focus on ourselves; it is a semi-final at our national stadium and we’ve got to use all those positives to worry about us”. The striker added: “We know if we get it right and play how we know we can then we have a great opportunity to get to a final. It’s going to be incredible.”

This is a team “who sense this is their moment”, says Uefa.com reporter Simon Hart. “And with 60,000 fans inside Wembley roaring them on, why not make some more history?”

But before the English team make their dream Wembely final, they have to go past Denmark, a team already punching above their weight by getting this far.

Even though not many gave the Danes a good chance of reaching the Semis when the tournament started, the 1992 winners have stunned the world superbly even after the anguish of Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest in their opening fixture, the Danes trashed Wales 4-0 in the round of 16 and the Czech Republic 2-1 in the quarter-finals to get to this stage.

Denmark also have a very decent recent record against the English team. In the 2020 Uefa Nations League the teams drew 0-0 in Copenhagen but Denmark were 1-0 winners at Wembley in the return fixture.

The winners will play Italy or Spain in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday 11 July, also at Wembley Stadium.

So, who do you think will win the Euros? Italy, Spain, England or Denmark?
