The International Police, Interpol, has been asked to arrest
Nigeria’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari.
Deji Adeyanju, a popular activist, said Kyari should be
arrested and handed over to the United States Federal Bureau of Investigations,
FBI, over his links to alleged internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas popularly known
as Hushuppi.
In a tweet, Adeyanju said Kyari should be arrested if he
ever steps foot in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Europe.
According to Adeyanju, Kyari should also be sacked from the
Nigeria Police Force, NPF.
He wrote: “Sack Abba Kyari now.
“The Interpol should arrest Abba Kyari if he ever goes to
Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Europe, etc and hand him over to the FBI.”
The United States Department of Justice had linked Kyari to
Hushpuppi.
Hushuppi is currently incarcerated in the US after he was
arrested in Dubai, a few years ago over international fraud worth billions of
dollars.
However, a report by the US Department of Justice said
ongoing investigations showed that Hushpuppi allegedly bribed Kyari to arrest
one Kelly Chibuzo Vincent, one of his accomplices in Nigeria.
The report said Vincent betrayed Hushpuppi and informed a
victim that he was being scammed after having a dispute with his gang.
“Abbas allegedly arranged to have Vincent jailed in Nigeria
by Abba Alhaji Kyari, 46, of Nigeria.
“According to the affidavit, Kyari is a highly decorated
deputy Commissioner of the Nigerian Police Force who is alleged to have
arranged for Vincent to be arrested and jailed at Abba’s behest,” the report
read partly.
