Manchester City defender, Ruben Dias, has been awarded the
Premier League Player of the Season.
Dias beat his team-mate Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham
Hotspur’s Harry Kane to the prize, following a sparkling debut in England.
It completes a double for Dias, who was named the Football
Writers’ Association Player of the Year last month.
The 24-year-old’s solid defensive displays helped Pep
Guardiola’s team to storm clear at the top of the table during the second half
of the season.
City kept 15 clean sheets in the 32 matches, conceding just 32 league goals all season – the fewest in the top-flight.
Guardiola himself was named Manager of the Year.
The Spaniard landed the title for the third time in four
years, only losing out to Liverpool last term.
