DSS foils attempt to disrupt peace in Kano

 


A singer, Ahmad Abdul, whose song allegedly created chaos and violent reactions among Kano people has openly apologized to the entire Muslim umma, the state government and Islamic scholars.

 

The singer, Ahmad Abdul was accused of blasphemy and detained by the Department of State Security to avoid his presence in public creating chaos.

 

Abdul during his conditional bail by the DSS said he regrets his songs which were not screened by the Kano Censorship Board.

 

“He said I never knew my song was against Islamic teachings and could course uproar, I wouldn’t have done it, but now I understand and accept my mistakes and I’m hereby apologies to Kano People’s, Ullamas, Government and the State Censorship Board”.

 

The Executive Secretary of the Censorship Board Ismaila Naaba Afakallah said he received hundreds of petitions against the song released by Ahamd Abdul.

 

He said after realizing that the song was against the beliefs of Kano People, Ullamas and Government, he reported the Boy to the DSS who swung into action and arrested him at a hotel where he was hiding for days.

 

The Executive Secretary added that several uncensored songs have been seized from many youth groups who take to singing as a business.

 

Ahmad’s Father, Abdullahi Isa thanked the DSS for their timely response on the matter which saved a possible breakdown of law and order.
