Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People
of Biafra, IPOB has commended Twitter for deleting President Muhammadu Buhari’s
tweet against the people of Igbo-dominated South-East.
Recall that Twitter on Wednesday deleted a tweet by the
President which read, ”Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be
aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian
Civil War.
”Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through
the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”
The comment which generated diverse reaction led to a call
for suspension of the President’s Twitter account.
Some had slammed him for pleading with Fulani herdsmen and
bandits who have killed and are still killing innocent Nigerians while
threatening the South East with another civil war.
However, after several reports by Nigerians, Twitter said the tweet violated its rules.
Nnamdi Kani in a reaction said the development means that
the rulers of Nigeria will account for their crimes against Biafra.
”Thank you, @Twitter for DELETING the hate-filled tweet by
the account fronting as @MBuhari
”What you did proves that the rulers of Nigeria who feel
they’re not accountable to #Biafrans for their crimes will ultimately account
to the international community. #ThisIsNot1967.”
