Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has paid a
condolence visit to the family of Ibrahim Attahiru, the late army chief of
staff.
Attahiru and 10 other military officers died in an air crash
near the Kaduna international airport on Friday.
Their remains were buried at the national military cemetery
in the federal capital territory (FCT) on Saturday.
In a tweet on Sunday evening, the first lady shared photos
of her visit to the army chief’s residence, saying the death of Attahiru and
other officers is a monumental loss to the nation.
“I paid a condolence
visit to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru.
The death of the late Chief of Army Staff and the other military officers
aboard the ill-fated aircraft is a monumental loss to their families and the
Nation at large,” the tweet reads.
