The National Examinations Council (NECO) has rescheduled its 2021 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into federal unity colleges earlier billed for May 29.
Azeez Sani, NECO’s head of information and public relations
division, broke the news in a statement on Wednesday.
According to Sani, the exam will now hold on June 5.
He said the measure was to allow states with low registration of candidates to register more applicants.
Sani enjoined candidates, parents, guardians, and relevant
stakeholders to take note of the new date for the examination and ensure they
register before the deadline.
“The National Examinations Council (NECO) has rescheduled
the 2021 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into Federal Unity
Colleges to Saturday 5th June, 2021 as approved by the Federal Ministry of
Education,” the statement read.
“The Examination which was initially scheduled for Saturday
29th May, 2021, was rescheduled to give states with low registration of
candidates the opportunity to register their candidates for the examination.
“All candidates,
parents, guardians and relevant stakeholders are therefore enjoined to take
note of the new date for the examination. The registration of candidates will
continue till the new date.”
Sani added that the registration of candidates would continue
until the new date of the examination.
He called on candidates, parents and guardians to download
the new examination timetable from the council’s website: www.neco.gov.ng.
