Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has lauded the
Southern Governors for banning open grazing in the regions and opting for the
restructuring of the Federal system.
The governors under the aegis of Southern Nigeria Governors
Forum, SNGF met in Delta State on Tuesday to resolve the lingering security
crisis in the region.
During the meeting which was attended by Governor Dapo
Abiodun (Ogun), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Rotimi
Akeredolu (Ondo) and others, the SNGF discoursed ways of ending insecurity in
the region.
SNGF also voted for the restructuring of Nigeria as means of
tackling the worsening security situation and the agitation for secession.
Reacting, the human rights lawyer said the move was a “step
to freedom, equity and justice in the country”.
He stated this on Wednesday via a tweet on his verified
Twitter handle.
“Southern Governors, you have made us proud! I commend &
salute your courage! This is the first step on the road to freedom, equity
& justice.
“This is the beginning of a new Nigeria & a signal to
the world that the South can no longer be taken for granted & has come of
age”, Fani-Kayode tweeted.
