Nigeria’s daily count of COVID-19 cases remained relatively
low on Saturday, with 41 new infections recorded in six states and the federal
capital territory (FCT).
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the
new cases in its update for May 15, 2021.
The country has had a steady run of low figures in the past
one month.
According to the breakdown by the NCDC, Lagos recorded the
most cases with 16 positive samples, followed by Yobe with 14, and Rivers with
three.
Other states with new infections include FCT (3), Akwa Ibom
(2), Bayelsa (2), and Edo (1).
With no deaths reported on Saturday, the total number of
coronavirus casualties remains 2,066.
Meanwhile, the daily count of recoveries increased slightly
with 13 patients discharged on Saturday, increasing the total to 156,412.
A total of 165,702 coronavirus infections have now been
confirmed across 36 states and the FCT.
