Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has faulted former
Lagos and Osun Governors, Bola Tinubu and Bisi Akande, for visiting President
Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja on Tuesday.
NigerianEye had earlier reported that Tinubu, Akande, and
others paid Buhari a condolence visit over the recent Kaduna air crash.
The mishap claimed the lives of Army Chief, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim
Attahiru and other military officers.
Reacting, Omokri wondered why the APC chieftains should
visit Buhari, who didn’t attend the burial of the late COAS and other officers,
adding that it makes no sense.
Omokri wrote on Twitter, “Why are Governors, Tinubu,
Ministers and other VIPs going on condolence visits to General @MBuhari over
the death of General Attahiru? It makes no sense.
“Someone, that was not even bothered enough to attend the
funeral? If you just condole, then condole his family. ”
Recall that Buhari and his vice Yemi Osinbajo were
conspicuously absent at the burial of the late COAS and other military officers
on Saturday.
Attahiru died in a plane crash close to the Kaduna Airport
last Friday.
Ten other officers were also killed when the Beachcraft 350
aircraft came down due to bad weather.
Buhari’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta
Onochie, had since explained the President’s absence at Saturday’s burial of
the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and other military
officers.
Onochie said that Buhari must be given a 48-hour notice
before any funeral outside the Presidential Villa.
