Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has condemned the
composition of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led National Security Council
(NSC)
The council met at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday to
deliberate security challenges across the country.
Buhari approved new measures to quell the attacks against
security operatives and facilities in South-East and South-South regions.
Omokri decried the non-inclusion of Igbo people in the
council. He said the meeting took a critical decision without the
representative of a zone in crisis.
In attendance at the meeting were Buhari, Vice President
Yemi Osinbajo, Boss Mustapha (SGF), Ibrahim Gambari (CoS), Babagana Monguno
(NSA), Bashir Magashi (Defence Minister).
Others were Irabor (Defence Chief), Ibrahim Attahiru (Army
Chief), Awwal Gambo (Naval Chief), Isiaka Amao (Air Chief), Usman Baba (IG of
Police), Yusuf Bichi (DSS), Ahmed Abubakar (NIA).
Omokri accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)
government of nepotism and injustice against the Igbos.
The government critic stated that the NSC parley was not the
solution to Nigeria’s problem.
“To address insecurity in the nation, and especially in the
Southeast. Yet, not one South-easterner was present in that meeting.
“Nepotism, tribalism, and cronyism. Can you shave a man’s
head in his absence?”, he quipped.
