Real Madrid has confirmed that captain, Sergio Ramos, has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the internal calf in his left leg ahead of the team’s home Champions League quarter-final clash with Liverpool on Tuesday.
Real Madrid disclosed this in a statement via the club’s official website on Thursday.
The La Liga champions eliminated Atalanta in the Champions League last-16 encounter last month.
Zinedine Zidane’s side head to the game after beating Celta Vigo 3-1 in their last La Liga tie on March 20.
The statement read, “Following the tests carried out today on our captain, Sergio Ramos, by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the internal calf in his left leg. His recovery will be monitored.”
Real Madrid is currently in the third position on the LaLiga table with 60 points from 28 games.
The Los Blancos will host Eibar in the LaLiga on Saturday before the Liverpool clash on April 6.
