The Senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani has called for an intensified effort by the Federal Government to rescue the 39 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Kaduna who were abducted on March 11.
The human rights activist made the call on Sunday in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle.
It was gathered that 17 days after their abduction, the 39 students are still in the custody of their abductors in Kaduna forest.
Recall that Ibrahim Shamaki, father of one of the victims, on Friday, died of anguish triggered by the abduction of his daughter, Fatima Ibrahim.
In his tweet, Sheu Sani noted that the responsibility of rescuing the kidnapped students “lie with the Federal Government”.
The tweet reads: “On the 11th of March, 39 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization Kaduna were kidnapped. Since then, they remain in the hands of the bandits.
“The responsibility for securing their freedom solely lies with the Government. Efforts must be intensified”.
